Out of Town Info

Out of Town Info

We coordinate cosmetic surgeries for patients across the United States who decide to have procedures performed by Dr. Warnock in Utah. This answers some of the basic questions. Please feel free to contact our office with any additional questions you may have.

How do I start the process of scheduling a consultation and surgery if I don’t live in Utah?

There are two scenarios for out of town patients; those that want to make two separate trips, one for a consultation and then later for surgery OR those that want to do it all in one trip.

Either way you can start by calling our office or sending an email request through our website.

If you chose to do this all in one trip, our Patient Coordinator will send you an email and health history form to fill out. We then ask that you email this back with 3 photos; front view and a view of each side. It is best to JUST include the area of concern. Be assured that these photos are confidential. We ask for these to make sure that you are a good candidate for surgery.

Will I meet the Doctor before surgery?

Ideally, we want you to come into our office for an exam and measurements as early as possible before your surgery date, as we can’t guarantee any information without an in-person consultation with the Doctor. We understand that this isn’t always easy. That is why we ask for a health history form and pictures prior to your consultation with the Doctor. We require that you come to our office at least one day prior to surgery to meet with the Doctor for a full exam and health history review.

When will I get a quote for surgery?

After the Doctor reviews your health history and photos we can give you an estimated quote for surgery. We cannot guarantee a quote until the doctor has seen you in person for evaluation. Most procedures are straight forward and will not change, however there are a few situations where actual physical examination can change the price of the surgery.

How do I reserve my spot on the surgical schedule?

Once you have submitted your health history form and photos, the Doctor will review and address any questions or concerns. Once the Doctor has reviewed and approved that you are a good candidate for surgery you are welcome to schedule your surgery date. In order to schedule the surgery we would require a deposit of 10% of the surgery price to reserve the date. The deposit is deducted off the total amount due for the procedure. The final balance is due when you come in for your consultation, before surgery. There is a $100 rescheduling fee or 50% of your deposit if you re-schedule less than 7 days before your surgery date. This deposit is non-refundable if surgery is canceled.

What payment forms are accepted for surgery?

We accept all major credit cards or cashier check. We also accept certain plans under Care Credit. There is a finance tab on our website with a link for additional financing for those interested in a different option. We do not accept personal checks.

How long do I have to stay in town?

This will depend on the procedure performed. It is a 3 day minimum stay for all procedures and for more extensive surgery, we may require that you stay in town for 2-3 weeks.

Do I need lab work done before my surgery?

If you are over the age of 40 or have specific medical history requiring so, then you will need to have some lab work done. This should be done within 2 weeks of your surgery date. It can be performed at any laboratory close to where you live. Please call our office and let us know when and where you will be getting this done and an order can be faxed to the appropriate clinic.

If you are having breast surgery and over 40 then we also strongly suggest that you have a mammogram with normal results dated within the last 12 months. If you are over the age of 40 and have not had a mammogram done, now is the time!! If you are under the age of 40 with a family history of breast cancer it may be a good idea to have a screening mammogram performed. This can be discussed with the doctor prior to your visit to Utah. Please call our office to let us know where this will be performed so we can fax the appropriate order to them.

Where will surgery be performed?

We have a surgical center located within our building. Canyon Crest Surgery Center is an AAAASF accredited facility. They are a typical surgery center, not a hospital. All cosmetic procedures are done on an out- patient basis. If you have medical history that would require surgery to be done at a hospital, arrangements can be made to do so. This would be an additional charge to our listed cosmetic pricing.

Will I need to have somebody stay with me after surgery?

Yes! It is a requirement that a responsible adult be available to pick you up after surgery and stay with you for at least 24 hours. The Surgery Center will not allow you to drive yourself or take a taxi after surgery.

What if I do not have somebody available to take care of me?

There are services available in the area to care for you after surgery for a reasonable charge. There are different options from a care center which would include your room and nursing care versus a qualified medical assistant or registered nurse that can stay and watch you overnight in your hotel. Either scenario would pick you up after surgery and return you to our office the day after surgery for a follow up appointment. If you will need these services please notify us as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made to have them available on the day of surgery.

When will I need to follow up after surgery?

It is a requirement that we see you the following day after surgery for all procedures. If everything looks appropriate for 24 hours after surgery then for most procedures you are released to travel home. If it is a more extensive surgery then you may be required to stay in town for a longer period of time.

Typically we would see our in- town patients at 1 week after surgery. If you are not able to attend this appointment then we can do this via phone and email. We will have you email some photos at the 1 week mark to check on progress and call and answer any questions that you may have.

NOTE : Being an out of town patient, you must remember that if for any reason you are having trouble or healing delays you will be required to travel back to our office for evaluation by the Doctor.

Where can I stay in the area?

We are conveniently located just South of Salt Lake City. There are multiple hotels close to our office. Several hotels offer discounts to our patients. Let us know in advance if you would like a list of those hotels. If you prefer to find one on your own you can search by zip code of 84020.
