Get Rid of Stubborn Body Fat with Liposuction

Liposuction

Getting rid of stubborn body fat can be tricky. Some people go to the gym on a regular basis while others try to eat healthily. Sometimes, there is still excess fat that you are unable to get rid of no matter what you do.  Liposuction is a procedure that can help you get rid of excess body fat and sculpt the body you want.

The Procedure

During the liposuction procedure, Dr. Steven Warnock makes small incisions in the treatment area. A small hollow tube is then inserted into the incisions where it sucks away the excess fat permanently. Little or no trauma will be incurred during this process.

Depending on the needs of the patient, a topical or local anesthetic may be used.  Doctor Warnock will be able to discuss the possibilities with you during your consultation.

The Recovery

Recovery will depend on the person and the extent of the procedure.  If you had fat removed from your chest area, it might have a longer recovery compared to if you had fat removed from your legs.  Regardless of the treatment area, you should expect to wear bandages to control the swelling and stitches might be used.  Stitches will be removed after the first seven days after the procedure.

If you smoke, you will want to avoid doing so for at least two weeks after the operation.  Avoid taking aspirin or ibuprofen because they could cause bleeding. If needed you may take Tylenol, but you should consult your doctor before doing so.  Strenuous activity for three weeks after the operation should be avoided as well.

Is Liposuction Right For You?

Liposuction is a great way to remove that excess fat you been trying to get rid of, but it shouldn’t be used as a weight loss solution. You should be within 20 pounds of your weight goal and relatively healthy before considering liposuction.

One of the top benefits of liposuction is that it can be used on virtually any area of the body. Most commonly treated areas are the legs, abdomen and love handles. During your consultation, our medical team will review your aesthetic goals and concerns, and we’ll create a treatment plan that’s right for you.

Life after Liposuction

You might not see the desired results right away, but do not get discouraged.  Your results will develop over time, and full results will be visible after the recovery process is complete. Factors such as pregnancy and aging can affect the results of the liposuction, but if you eat healthily and exercise, the results of the liposuction can last for a long time.

If you’re ready to combat stubborn body fat, our team at Steven Warnock, MD can help. We’ll work with you to ensure you get the results you want. Contact Steven Warnock, MD today to schedule your consultation.
